The season is coming to an end
W's last regular season football game will be this week. So far their record is 4-3. It appears that if they win their last game and they get a little help from another team, they may make the playoffs. W has gotten a lot of playing time at cornerback and tight end. He is having a blast and has really learned a lot about tackling and blocking. W has already filled up 2 notebooks with plays he has designed and named.
K has started her second set of ice skating lessons. She is learning to march on the ice and swizzle (not sure what that is). She likes to be the last one across to the other side, so that way she gets to hold the teacher's hand. So she is content not to be the first one.

Football Season
W is having a great time playing football. He is now playing cornerback and tightend.
The first game they lost to Vestavia by a touchdown.
The second game they beat Helena by a touchdown. The highlight was when W had his first interception midway through the second half. Then in the 4th quarter he almost sealed the win himself with another interception, but the ball was knocked out as he hit the ground.
Then the third game they lost to Homewood in a wet and soggy mess.
So their record is 1-2 going into the next game on Monday 28th against Oak Mt Blue.
See ya there!

Practice Games
First practice game against Helena was a success. Pelham 20, Helena 14.
W got to play the first two defensive series at cornerback. He got several plays to his side. Pelham scored on a couple of long runs by No. 22 and No. 24.
Practice Game Tuesday the 18th against Hoover Central at 6:30 pm.
Practice Game Thursday the 20th against Oak Mountain at 7:00 pm.
don't forget to bring your wallet as they are not afraid to ask you to buy a ticket - to practice games! Football is definitely more expensive than baseball.

Two and done
Well, the tournament is now over. Two games and we found ourselved wondering what will we do this weekend? No plans.
Game 1 against Trussville. It was a defensive struggle with Trussville winning 4-2.
Game 2 against Homewood. It was our game to win or lose. The first two innings we led 8-1. Then the wheels fell off. We gave up too many runs to recover and the final was 28-19. Quite a difference from the night before. But that's 7 year old baseball for you.
This year the All-Star season at least brought us our first 2 wins ever, an improvement over the 0-5 season last year.
....football practice here we come.
